Want to start from the beginning?

I fell down on one of my mini goals.

I haven't published an article to #LinkedIn – yet!
I've been keeping up on my others like contacting potential clients and publishing on my other platforms. Today, I'm writing a piece for #Medium in between my client work and meetings.
I just need to publish and promote it before the clock strikes 12 πŸ•›
I'm vacillating between nervous 😬 and excited 😁; it feels like a lot to do, but I am enjoying the projects and the process as a whole. I'm confident that I'll hit my #minimummonetary, but I still need to put in the work.
One extra stressor on my plate is self-induced. I've decided to take off Friday in order to take advantage of summer fun. I'll likely work over the weekend to ensure I stay on top of my to-do list, but it does condense how much I want to accomplish into a smaller time block before then.
Mostly, I'm feeling invigorated!

#letsgetshitdone

tl;dr I created an aggressive list of goals for myself. I'm making strides for some, but missed a big one on Monday. So, now it's time to play catch up. I'm both nervous and excited about meeting my minimum monetary. 🀞

This week is all about #newbusiness. That said, I've just hit a new #milestone πŸ’Ž!
That's now a few milestones I've hit with #Medium, and it's encouragement for me to get back to the #platform. It's a great way for me to share my experiences and thoughts, but it's also a potential path to showcase my #writing and attract new clients.
So far, I've gotten a few successes under my belt:
  • βœ…Joined Medium's Partner Program
  • πŸ‘€ Over 3k views of my articles
  • πŸ’° Paid out for πŸ”’article
  • 🀩 Over 50 fans on 1 article
  • πŸ€“ Over 50% read ratio across all of my work
  • 😍 25 Followers & counting
I lost some #followers after retracting from the platform – which I totally understand because I would have done the same thing πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ – so I'm hoping to #grow that number again.

All in all, I'm exploring new ways to connect with potential clients

I've been incredibly lucky (if hard work + dedication = luck) to have had every single one of my clients who approached me for a one off project turn into a repeat client. 43% of my clients have signed onto retainer packages, and another 28% have expressed interest, which would mean over 70% of clients chose to make a long-term monthly commitment to work with me.
I want to keep growing 🌱, of course. I'm super excited to learn what pathways work, especially because as all the typical and suggested options fail (as they tend too) I'll need to get creative with my approach. I really ramped up my efforts on Instagram last week and am planning to continue exploring it into July. As mentioned above, I'm returning to Medium. But I also want to revisit some other platforms like LinkedIn and ClearVoice.
There were several platforms I disregarded in previous weeks because they didn't provide metrics to track popularity or engagement. While I'm still measuring those for my own interest, they are no longer #conditionals and therefore back on my radar. I'm curious to see what works out!! πŸ€”

#backtowork

tl;dr I've had a ton of success with turning colleagues and one off projects into long term clients, especially after launching retainer packages. Now, I'm focused on finding new clients to add to my list. 🀞 that Medium is a possible pathway.

It's been about a month since I began as a #contentwriter, so it seems about time to review.
Let's start with the #milestones πŸ’Ž
  • March 20 – rolled as content writer
  • March 24 – 1st paid #Fiverr gig
  • March 26 – 1st repeat customer on a platform
  • March 26 – met monetary #conditional in 1st week
  • March 27 – published 1st article on #Medium
  • March 27 – joined Medium Partner Program
  • March 27 – 1st clap on a Medium article
  • March 28 – 1st private client
  • March 29 – 1st Medium follower
  • March 30 – most monetarily successful #pilotidea
  • March 30 – 1st week meeting all 3 conditionals
  • March 31 – published 1st article on #linkedin
  • April 03 – 1st repeat private client
  • April 10 – 1st Fiverr upgrade offer accepted
  • April 10 – 1st Fiverr tip
  • April 12 – 1st private referral
  • April 13 – 1st pitch accepted
Yup, and that's in less than 30 days!
I've got some bigger goals on the horizon, but hot damn, this is pretty incredible progress. I've met a monetary conditional every single week of this pilot idea, and all 3 conditionals for 3 out of 4 weeks.

tl;dr It's been about a month since I began the latest #contentwriter #pilotidea. This is a list of all of my milestones in that time.

😲☺️🀩

It's been less than 24 hours since I published The Badge of Busyness on #Medium, but holy crap, these are crazy awesome stats!
It's been viewed over 1,000 times (close to 2k!) and read over 300 times! This is the largest amount of eyes I have had on my #writing ... probably ever, and I'm totally amazed. Especially since I think it's a fairly #controversial piece.

and yeah, I feel pretty awesome 😎

New week, new records to beat!
After reviewing my progress last week, I've decided there is still room for improvement. Hence, more changes:
  • For the #engagement #conditional, only claps πŸ‘ from new users will be counted for #Medium
  • I'm dropping the Alignable #platform πŸ‘Ž
  • I'm dropping the Slack platform πŸ‘Ž
This week, I'm introducing objective #dropoffconditionals for my own network. My network of friends, acquaintances, and colleagues πŸ‘―β€β™€οΈ get involved in the same way I see #popularity and engagement on other platforms. So, I'm counting them in on the fun!
Popularity has been primarily based on people viewing, liking, commenting on, and sharing what I do. But what is the network equivalent?
  • Introductions and referrals
  • Twitter likes, retweets, and shares
  • Reddit upvotes and comments
  • Instagram likes, comments, and reposts
  • Pig Pilots likes and reads
Engagement has been primarily based on people responding to my work, asking me about paid work, and sending queries about next steps. The same is true for my network:
  • Someone texts/emails/calls to ask me about hiring me as a #contentwriter
I still think Popularity needs a bit of refinement to determine the validity (as well as the calculation) of each point. But I think it's a great starting point.

tl;dr This is a new week, and I'm already dropping platforms. I really want to hone in what is working and discard what isn't pulling its weight – as objectively as possible.

It's official! I'm a Medium Platform Partner! πŸŽ‰πŸ™ŒπŸŽŠ

If you're curious, here's the #conditional breakdown for the #medium #platform:
  • Monetary – $0.01 = 1 PigPointsβ„’
  • Popularity – 1 view/read/share = 14 PigPointsβ„’
  • Engagement – 1 clap/follow = 70 PigPointsβ„’

tl;dr I've joined the Medium Partner Program, where I can write whatever and whenever, and potentially earn money from my writing.

Pig Pilots agree that 4 out of 5 platforms are lame

Since starting the #contentwriter #pilotidea, I've changed my platforms... oh, about 8 times.
And I'm doing it again!
  • Fiverr
  • ClearVoice
  • Contently
  • Skyword
  • WriterAccess
Yup, I've just cut 4 teammates from the roster. ClearVoice, Contently, and Skyword are really just online CVs with a tiny possibility of being contacted for a project. There is no way to actively put myself forward for projects and no metrics of #popularity or #engagement. So, they're out.
WriterAccess may end up being an active #platform and it actually does have #metrics that I can use for popularity and engagement, but the process is moving super slowly. Ain't nobody got time for that!
Maybe if WriterAccess picks up the pace, I'll add 'em back, but for now, they're benched.
After looking into #Medium's Partner Program, I've decided to add it into the mix, for a handful of awesome reasons:
  • I can write about whatever strikes my fancy
  • I can create my own writing + publishing schedule
  • I can make money from their membership program
  • It's not advertising-based
  • The UI is super pretty
2 down, 3 more to go....

tl;dr I'm dropping every platform except for Fiverr. The others just don't offer enough opportunity to be active or track metrics. I've found one replacement: Medium, but I need more to increase my chances of meeting conditionals.
